Dad's Battling with Cancer

It's quite awhile that we tried to use virus and even Hepatitis B to described Dad's situation but now like it or not we must admit that Dad's liver cancer has recurrence.

The chemo session has really consumed Dad's energy and the news is that there's a lesion near the blood vessel where surgery is not advisable. Therefore, right now, our hope is on the oral drug to control cancer growth.

Yesterday, Dad was discharged from hospital so that he could rest at home. However, today Dad is peeing blood and has jaundice therefore we have decided to admit him to hospital again tomorrow since today is a public holiday.

There are times I nearly break down seeing Dad's suffering. He has gone skinny for the past 2 weeks. Since he is on oral drug, we really hope the drug could help to control his cancer.

Dad's Admitting to Hospital

Last week, Dad went for his normal check up and as we have expected the doctors found 2 lesions in his liver this time. Doc has arranged a chemo session for him this Tuesday. At 63 and with the lesions, Dad is frequently exhausted and sleep nearly the whole day. This is quite worrying for us especially Dad will be down with fever at night and will go in the morning. We really hope that the chemo will not be too much for Dad.

Since last Thu, we try to feed Dad with lighter food since Dad has lose his appetite, therefore we try to prepare snacks in between so that the food is not too overwhelmed with food.

It has been a busy week for Mum and I, juggling with work, taking care of Dad and Zoe. We have to take turn to take leave next week to ensure Dad is well taken care of and there's someone to babysit Zoe.

Though it has been a tiring week for us, but it doesn't matter and what it matters is that Dad will have a smooth chemo and able to get on with his life.

Recent Trip to Singapore

Every year I have fly to Singapore for conference. This year we are fortunate that we have some time to visit Universal Studio with all expenses under the company! Thanks Boss!

Day 1:
Touched down Singapore 8 pm and reached Fullerton Hotel at 8.30 pm. Have planned for a nice warm bath and then a room service in front of the TV. However, tempted by colleagues for a supper in Geylang. So, bye bye to quiet night and off I went for Geylang.

Day 2:
Conference in the morning and can't wait for Universal Studio visit. After a hearty buffet lunch in the hotel, we rushed to Universal Studio, not to lose any more time. We're like a bunch of young kids running in excitement for the different streets. Well, now i believed in peers pressure and because of this I went up the canopy flyer with your leg hanging loose in the air!!! When I realised this, there's turning back but force to take the ride.

In front of me, face-to-face a little girl age about 3, was beginning to cry and guess what ; I tried to consoled her by diverting her attention from the ride. Soon the little girl stopped crying but oops! I remembered that I feared the ride but it's already going downhill. What else I can do then....so SCREAMMMM!!!!!!!

The day end with dinner in Geylang...again!

Day 3:
Surprisingly, we're able to wake up today for the conference. The conference ended early so that we could prepare for the dinner tonite. We were so exhausted as we have talked the whole night after the dinner and end up sleeping at 3pm!

Day 4:
Woke up early in the morning to have breakfast since the past 2 mornings I have skipped breakfast in exchange for a longer sleep. Since there was more time, packed my bags before the conference starts so that I could check out during lunch time.

After conference, boarded a 5.25pm plane back to Malaysia. It's a short trip but really have given me a break from day to day task and of course the 1/2 day in Universal Studio is equivalent to my whole week work out at home.

Look forward for another break in 3 months time.

Mummy out there, have fun!

My sister-in-law just gave birth to a baby girl! Bundled with joy, excitement and thrilled, it also comes with exhaustion, lack of sleep and guilty. Having the addition member means changing one lifestyle and sacrifice time for the little one.

2 years ago, that's how I felt, when Zoe was borned. I felt stressed and tired until I read in the magazine that as mothers we must have a positive mind, then only we can enjoy the experience. Below are some of my experience as a 1st time mum:

1) Don't feel guilty to get help
Don't feel bad to enroll the help of relatives, friends or babysitter so that new mothers could have some
good rest ( which is important for breast feeding mum)

2) Spend time alone
Arrange for dinner with hubby or friends in one of the afternoon. Spend time to laugh - it helps to calm
     you down.

3) Enjoy being with the baby
Importantly, enjoy the company of your newborn. Spend time look at your newborn, talk to your baby-
the bonding can help you to understand your newborn better.

Starting a Blog

I found the interest in blogging when Zoe was born. At that time blogging was to share the growing joy of my baby. But now, blogging can be a tool to share some interesting and exciting happening in my life.

Do share your comments and thoughts so that we could learn from each other. :)
